Maja Vranić
is a final year student at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Belgrade, Graphics Department, in the class of professor Vladimir Veljašević. Aside from drawing and painting, she works in the techniques of letterpress, intaglio, planographic printing, lithography and digital graphics, and mostly in the screen printing technique, by combining photography. She exhibited at more than 20 group exhibitions in the country and abroad and won two awards. Maja’s focus is the depiction of man himself, his feelings and existence. In a symbolic manner, she represents the ability of the body to make gestures, sounds and movements. A language reduced to screams, grimaces, breathing, linked together with emotions, shows a man exactly as he is. She also deals with the meaning of words – the line between them being worthless and having a strong influence, whether the deepest meaning is born from within the being and if the right words can be released in this way – which is why it is sometimes better to remain silent.
