Bringing together ethno elements and avant-garde, Obuci grafiku T-shirts are now also available \nin the souvenir shop of the Ethnographic Museum in Belgrade. This collection was specially \nmade after a collaboration invitation from the Ethnographic Museum, with digital graphic prints \nby Vladimir Milanovi\u0107.<\/p>\n\n

Is it possible to bring together ethnography and avant-garde so that that combination would \nmake sense? It is indeed. The artist Vladimir Milanovi\u0107, Associate Professor at the Graphics \nDepartment of the Faculty of Fine Arts in Belgrade, designed a map of digital prints inspired by \nthe avant-garde ideas of Ljubomir Mici\u0107 (1895\u20131971) already in 2017. Mici\u0107, an extremely \ninteresting, and from the perspective of that period a very contradictory person, cooperated \nwith the most progressive cosmopolitan movements of Europe in the first decades of the 20 th \ncentury. However, he glorified nationalist ideas and the Serbian peasant as well. Since Mici\u0107 \nwas also the founder of the \u201cZenitism\u201d movement, Vladimir Milanovi\u0107 made a map of 16 digital \nprints \u201cZenit\u201d, three of which we reproduced on Obuci grafiku T-shirts: Shame, Duet and Leap.<\/p>\n\n

Additionally, the digital graphic print \u201cKnowledge is strength, knowledge is power\u201d with a \nrepresentation of Vuk Karad\u017ei\u0107 with tattooed, muscular arms, is another T-shirt in this \ncollection. In this work, the author conveys contemporary aesthetics and symbols by means of \na torso, which is often used to convey power. By combining such a display of strength with the \nbust of Vuk Karad\u017ei\u0107, who is a symbol of erudition and knowledge, Milanovi\u0107 offers a synergy of \nthe traditional and the modern, combining them into true strength. This print was made for the \nfront page of the magazine \u201cLiceulice\u201d, its 65 th issue, dedicated to the future of education.<\/p>\n\n
